The 3rd annual Lion's Den event in the DFW Metroplex on March 22nd, 2018 highlighted 10 different entrepreneurs demonstrating their vision, business model, and passion to deliver a business with a Kingdom impact.

Close to 500 attended representing 27 states and 7 countries. We are already getting reports of Investment conversations going on with multiple companies so real businesses are finding real investors and are making real impact! Praise the Lord!

We kicked off the event hearing an update regarding last year’s keynote speaker, Jon Erwin of Erwin Brother’s Entertainment. Their newest movie “I Can Only Imagine,” is a box office hit in theaters now. Jon, shared a preview of the movie during his keynote at last year's event and afterwards received investment from The Lion’s Den ecosystem. We celebrate with them as the news has said great things, the ratings are extremely high, the profits continue to grow, and the spiritual impact has been very evident. For more info click here.

This year’s Breakouts had several sessions with over 100 in attendance.  New presenters included Josh Kwan from Praxis who spoke about Redemptive Entrepreneurship, Endel Liias updated us on the Christian Impact investing landscape, and a panel of successful women entrepreneurs shared about opportunities and issues they face daily in the marketplace as women. We also had updates from our resident experts John Raymond, Wade Myers, Grant Skeldon, and Dr. Ross O’Brien on key topics including Investments, the challenges of entrepreneurship, millennial's in the workplace, and what the Bible has to say about business.

The Exhibition Hall was full this year with groups like Acton Institute, Living Water Car Wash, Web Essentials, the Veit Foundation,East West Ministries, and EPIC, among others which provided a wonderful opportunity for investors, students, and other attendees to interact with the pitch companies and sponsors.

The Keynote Lunch was tremendous this year with an update from 2017 pitch companyLivFul, and a panel of CEOs and company Presidents that talked about Failure, Fear, and Risk as an entrepreneur. Kerby Anderson of Point of View Radio Show facilitated the panel including: Nathan Sheets, CEO of Nature Nate’s Honey, Tyler Reeves, President of Interstate Battery, Travis Lewis, CEO of Rug Doctor, and Rob Peabody, CEO of VOMO.  Because all the panel speakers are in a C12 business leaders group their relationships were strong, so they entertained as well as educated the eager audience.

The 2018 pitch companies brought their best performances as they sought to win over the audience for their votes and their investment. You can watch event day interviews with the companies here at our facebook page. This year’s companies were:

As you can tell, it was an incredible year that we thank God for and give Him the glory for.  As we commonly say, it is His event, not ours.

Though this event only happens once a year in Dallas, it happens again in the fall in Birmingham, AL, so check out our sister website for that event on 10/18/2018 by clicking here.
